Our Fraser River Sturgeon Report for April 22, 2016
Sturgeon fishing doesn’t get any better than what we’ve experienced over the last 2 weeks. We want to make this clear. We were on the Fraser on April 19-20th with 2 guys, 1 from Australia and 1 from the USA midwest. They were in for a real treat as there were over 20 good size fish landed. Our biggest was a whopping 8 feet 4 inch beast. Lots of White Sturgeon were in the 4.5 – 6 foot range and full of ‘piss & vinegar’ aka steroids. Many fish were doing incredibly long runs over 200 meters and a couple of fish had to be chased down river to avoid being spooled the 300 meters of Powerpro braided line that’s on our Shimano Talica reels.

Another 5 Star Review for our Sturgeon charters:
“Amazing sturgeon action”
Had a great few days with Brian and Jason. Originally I’d aimed to fly fish for trout, but hot weather forced an early snow melt after the first day. Brian quickly recognized that this would shut down the trout bite, so he suggested I try my hand at sturgeon fishing. I’d heard of this species but never really thought about fishing for them. The next two days were some of the best freshwater sport fishing i’ve ever experienced. We landed over 15 fish up to 8 feet in length. Far from a slow-moving bottom dweller, the sturgeon fought like an ocean speedster, making long screaming runs, leaping completely out of the water and fighting right up to the boat. I’ve never had sore arms from a freshwater fishing trip. Without Brian’s local knowledge and attention to detail, I might have had a fishless trip Canada. Thanks again guys. Visited April 2016
