Big River and Big Sturgeon!
On the Fraser River near Mission and Vancouver the media are talking flooding or possible flooding. That’s great but we are talkin’ Fishing because it needs to be said that big fish(aka White Sturgeon) love water and they still need to eat. That’s where we come in and you too. Our Sturgeon charter clients over the past week or two have enjoyed some rather good times on the Fraser River. Over the May long weekend we had 4 charters go out over 3 days. A total of 21 Sturgeon were hooked into and landed. Most fish are released at the side of the boat with exception of one large one which measured 7.5 feet!

7.5 foor White Sturgeon
Sturgeon over 8 feet or 300 lbs have been fought, landed, and safely released.
Fraser River flow
The BC river forecast centre predicts that our high flow rates on the Fraser River will be in place for several more weeks. However the worst seems to be over now. That doesn’t mean that everyone with a little boat should be rushing out there. Rather it’s quite the opposite for safety sake. Only those who work on the river and have proper safe boats(aluminum jet boats!) are suited for these conditions. For us the river is very easy to navigate and figure out. Anyone who boards one of our boats should feel very safe.

Sturgeon Fishing outlook for June
Big Sturgeon will be in the Fraser River for the remainder of the season. Therefore a lot of awesome fishing will be happening! A lot of very big fish will be entering the lower river in June and for the remainder of the year. These river monsters will be feeding but only on specific baits. Fortunately for our guests we will be ready for them. June has massive and wildly powerful Sturgeon that few can tame.
