Our clients Tony and his friend were hoping for a 8 foot plus(300 lb) Fraser river White Sturgeon when they boarded one of Silversides Fishing Adventures jet boats on the morning of August 5th, 2016. But they would have never expected this whopper. This giant Sturgeon measured 11 feet 3 inches: measured nose to fork of the tail. This is how you properly measure a game fish according to IGFA standards. According to Sturgeon weight charts this beast weighs 800 lbs.
This White Sturgeon river monster was caught right in Mission, British Columbia which claims itself to be the Sturgeon Fishing capital of the world and rightfully so.
The massive White Sturgeon was promptly released after a few quick pics. Fish this big don’t get caught very often. Luck and a skillfull guide are necessary to make landing this fish possible. The estimated age of this fish would be over 100 years. White Sturgeon can live for more than 150 years and reach weights of over 1,800 lbs. Good luck bringing that one in!
