Chum Salmon fishing provides easy and fast action for hard scrapping fish that weigh 10-15 lbs on average. Fraser River Valley Chum salmon runs are prolific and these fish love to bite! Chum fishing also coincides with incredible Sturgeon fishing! Numbers of Chum Salmon that return to the Fraser River Valley are incredible, like 2016 where over 2.5 million returned. Our clients were landing 40 plus fish per day each. Chums are very well known for dishing out some of the toughest battles(pound for pound) of all the salmon. This is the prime action packed Fraser river valley fishing package. We guide for Chum salmon on all Fraser valley rivers including the Harrison river. We fish for Chums by float fishing or fly fishing and trips require our jet boats to access all the prime real estate.

The Fraser River Valley and Vancouver BC area provides some of the best Chum salmon fishing anywhere! Chum salmon fill local rivers from mid September to late November. They return in large numbers, often counted by the millions! Silversides provides guided Chum salmon fishing on such well known rivers as the Fraser, Stave, Harrison and Vedder-Chilliwack. They are most commonly caught drifting jigs under a float or fly fishing. Chum salmon average about 10-14 lbs but we have taken fish up to 25 lbs. The great thing about Chums is that we can fish for them into late November and still catch fresh ones worthy of a nice picture or for the smoker.
Chum fishing is typically done from the banks or shores of our local rivers. On the Harrison and Stave river we occasionally fish from the jet boat if conditions or location dictate. Chum salmon fishing on the beautiful Squamish river or Vedder-Chilliwack river is always done from shore. Float fishing or fly fishing for Chum salmon are 2 of the most productive methods here and our experience spans 2 decades. Ocean bright Chum salmon are the norm on the Squamish river and battles are intense! These fish are only 2-4 hrs from the ocean.
We provide walk and wade Chum salmon fishing and a fly fishing guide service to all Vancouver hotels. We will pick you up in the morning and have you back at your hotel in time for dinner after a great day on the river!
